Health corruption

Worrying news from Uganda as three senior health ministers have been accused of corruption over the procurement of anti-malaria drugs. The positive side to the story is that some action appears to be taken against corruption in the health service, with 50 other health workers recently arrested and charged. Corruption is a huge problem for state health services in poor countries so let’s hope the accused get a fair trial and that corruption can be reduced and deterred.
