IPN has been in the news a great deal in the past few weeks. Mostly the coverage has been very positive. However, on Tuesday The Times of London published a commentary that is full of false claims about IPN. We have responded to these allegations with a letter to The Times requesting that they make a retraction and an apology, which can be seen below.

ARVs are no silver bullet in the fight against AIDS, but if properly administered and manufactured, they can help carriers of the diseases maintain productive lives. Despite this, untested and poor quality ARVs have been foisted on many in Africa by the WHO and western NGOs, according to Thompson Ayodele. Africans DO deserve high quality medicines. What they don't deserve is the increased risk of rising drug-resistance and increasing illness. The WHO's prescription for fighting AIDS is nothing but a sticking plaster on a massive wound, and it is fast becoming unstuck.
