Malaysia

The Malaysian health system is a mixture of public and private provision. Standards are relatively high, with a low level of infant mortality and a large number of medical schools. Local manufacturers supply the majority of generic drugs in the country, and the pharmaceutical market is generally competitive. Malaysia does not levy tariffs on imported medicines or the active ingredients required to manufacture them.
