James Chin is Clinical Professor of Epidemiology at the University of California, Berkeley. His main research interests are the past, present and future of the AIDS pandemic, and the epidemiology of communicable/infectious diseases. He previously held the position of Chief of the Surveillance, Forecasting, and Impact Assessment (SFI) unit of the World Health Organisation’s Global Programme on AIDS. His published work includes The AIDS pandemic: the collision of epidemiology with political correctness (Radcliffe, 2007).
